2023 COVID-19 Office Policies

Welcome! My practice follows Practice Guidelines recommended by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB), along with infection control recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). I have been fully vaccinated.

Requirements before & upon arrival:
  • Well fitting masks, preferably surgical/procedure masks are required at all times in the entrance.
  • Upon arrival at the office, I ask that you please wait outside until the time of your appointment.
  • Please let me open the door for you, as it will be locked.

While in the office:
  • Come on in and make your way to the bathroom to wash your hands.
  • Hand sanitizer is available in the entrance area, and around the office for you to use as needed.
  • In the treatment room I’ll have a bin for your clothing to be placed in.
  • When your session is finished, please open the door and I will come back in to talk and collect payment.
  • Please help yourself to the bathroom, and feel free to wash your hands before your leave.

During the massage session:
  • At this time, I am allowing masks to be removed in the massage room only.

Office policies:
  • The massage room & all high touch areas are cleaned/disinfected between every client. The bathroom is cleaned several times a day.
  • Linens including pillow cases/blankets are changed for every client & stored outside the room.
  • Windows & doors are as open as possible, HEPA filters in every room are running, filtering the air every six minutes.
  • The office is cleaned and disinfected at the end of every work day, floors are vacuumed & mopped with EPA approved disinfectants. We choose environmentally friendly options when possible.
  • While two practitioners may be present in the office on the same day, we strive to keep appointments staggered to limit the number of folks present in the waiting room.
  • I change my shirt between every client and wear a mask.
  • Amy, Hannah and I have taken the mandatory VOSHA training as required by the State of Vermont.

Clients at High Risk:
The CDC website lists health conditions that may put people at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19. If you have any concerns about your own risk factors, please seek advice from your Health Provider to see if massage and bodywork is indicated at this time.

Thank you for patience and respecting these policies during this time. Warmly~Melissa :)
