Medical Massage Insurance Billing
Insurance companies provide a few ways to receive reimbursement for massage therapy techniques in the state of Vermont.
They consist of: MVA; motor vehicle accident insurance, as well as Worker's Compensation; a job related injury.
Some Health Saving's Accounts (HSA's) also reimburse for Massage Therapy.
I encourage everyone to ask their health insurance company. The more people that ask, the more chance for change :)
This work is injury specific (treating specific areas of the body only) to decrease pain, increase healing, and increase range of motion or flexibility.
Please bring with you:
-Name of referring physician or prescription information.
-An ICD-10-CM code(s) or particular diagnostic codes used by your prescribing physician (ex: M54.40).
-Insurance company information including claim adjuster's contact information.
-Insurance company billing address for medical claims.
-Claim Number.
-The original date of your current injury (DOI)
-Employer's Name.
I provide an HCFA-1500 claim form when needed, with the necessary notations including CPT codes (Current Procedural Terminology) for massage/manual therapy techniques, and diagnostic codes (ICD-10) that are used to report procedures to U.S. medical specialists and insurance companies. Descriptions of codes are published annually by the American Medical Association (AMA).
